Spot them at Fort Kochi and the backwaters, originally brought to the region by Chinese traders, this is a not-to-be-missed landmark. They are locally known as ‘Cheenavala’, and is a source of great entertainment for native visitors as well as other travellers. Early mornings and late evenings, you can find fisher folk setting up lights and lowering the nets for the catch. Fresh fish and seafood are auctioned and sold here – a sight to watch!
